A Swedish traveller who undertook a safari trip in north-western Tanzania in November 2012 was confirmed to have East African Trypanosomiasis after her return to Sweden.

A Zambian national who visited a game ranch in the Luangwa valley in Zambia was confirmed to have East African Trypanosomiasis.

Canada: Escherichia coli O157 Infection
In Canada, health officials reported 7 people in Nova Scotia and 5 in New Brunswick have been infected with Escherichia Coli O157 infection. Health officials are investigating whether the outbreaks in these 2 regions might be linked and caused by common food product.
