As of 23 November 2012, the Ministry of Health of Uganda has reported 10 cases of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever in Luweero and Kampala. Of which, 5 deaths were resulted.

An outbreak of Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever continued to affect 4 districts namely Kabale, Ibanda, Mbarara and Kampala in Uganda. As of 23 November 2012, a total of 20 cases including 9 deaths have been reported.

In Darfur, Sudan, outbreak of Yellow fever continued. As of 17 November 2012, 26 localities have been affected with a total of 459 suspected cases including 116 deaths. The Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan began a mass vaccination campaign against yellow fever in Darfur in response to the outbreak.

As of 11 November 2012, the Portuguese Ministry of Health reported 1357 cases of dengue fever infection from Madeira, of which 669 were laboratory confirmed and 688 were probable cases.

As widespread violent clashes occurred in many cities across Syria, including Daraa, Latakia, Damascus, Baniyas, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, resulting in serious casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Syria to Black. Residents are urged to avoid all travel to the country. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.

Following the hostage taking incident in the Philippines which had caused casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for the Philippines to Black. Hong Kong residents are urged to avoid all travel to the Philippines. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and stay alert.
