The Ministry of Health of Egypt has notified WHO of 1 case of human infection with Avian Influenza A (H5N1) virus. The case is a 31-year-old female from Meet Salseel district, Dakahlia governorate, who developed symptoms on 10 November and was admitted on 16 November. She was in critical condition.

Senegal notified WHO of 3 cases of Yellow Fever on 26 October 2011. The patients were all females, aged 3 to 29. The onset time was between July to August 2011. All three cases have fully recovered.

An epidemic of Hepatitis A infection was reported in Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic since the summer this year. A total of 35 people were affected.

A death case due to Rabies was reported in Morona-Santiago, Ecuador. Local Health Office recorded 4 Rabies deaths in November. Eight children with compatible symptoms were admitted to hospital.

In Nepal, more than 500 chickens have been culled in Bhaktapur due to Avian Influenza.

In Delhi, India, 100 cases of Chikungunya Fever were reported this year compared with 70 cases reported in 2010. Health Authority had already taken all precautionary measures to prevent mosquito breeding and advised people to keep their surroundings clean.

As widespread violent clashes occurred in many cities across Syria, including Daraa, Latakia, Damascus, Baniyas, Aleppo, Homs and Hama, resulting in serious casualties, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has raised the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Syria to Black. Residents are urged to avoid all travel to the country. Those already there should attend to their personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.
