As of 7 March 2010, worldwide more than 213 countries and overseas territories or communities have reported laboratory confirmed cases of pandemic influenza H1N1 2009, including at least 16 713 deaths.

Vietnam reported a new human case of Avian Influenza. The victim was a 25-year-old woman from Soc Son District, Hanoi, who developed symptoms on 5 March 2010, and was treated in Hospital on 7 March 2010. An epidemiological investigation showed that the patient had exposure to sick and dead poultry.

In Romania, an outbreak of Avian Influenza which killed 47 birds was reported in Danube Delta area.

Kenya reported that as of 15 Mar 2010, 15 districts nationwide were affected with Cholera, with 663 cases confirmed since January 2010. At least 15 deaths have been recorded.

Mozambique reported that Cholera outbreak has now killed 42 people in the northern and central parts of the country. More than 2600 cases of people have contracted the infection in 2010.

A total of 11 people have died of cholera in Zambia since the outbreak of the disease at the onset of rainy season in late 2009. There has also been an increase in Cholera cases from 241 in February 2010 to 564 in March 2010.

In Australia, 2 more cases of Dengue Fever have been reported in the north Queensland town of Tully, bringing the total number of cases to 3.

A total of 1 985 cases of Denge Fever were reported in El Salvador so far this year. The Ministry of Health has declared a national yellow alert.

In Russia, there were 395 Rotavirus infection cases registered in Komi Republic in 2010, which is 52 percent more compared with the same period of 2009. More than 80 percent of cases were children mainly from childcare and preschool institutions.

In the Netherlands, 247 cases of Q fever were reported in the country so far this year. Out of these, 52 patients experienced their 1st day of illness during 2010.
