In Indonesia, an outbreak of Dengue Fever was reported in Yogyakarta. Up to the middle of March, 64 people were treated in the regional hospital.

Vietnam: Avian Influenza, poultry
In Vietnam, an outbreak of Avian Influenza which killed 30 muscovy ducks was reported in a farm in Ca Mau Province. In Lang Son Province, the illegally imported chickens were tested positive for H5N1 Avian Influenza virus.

In India, 3 new outbreaks of Avian Influenza among poultries were reported in West Bengal.

In Queensland of Australia, a total of 16 Dengue Fever cases were reported in Port Douglas and Mossman.

Switzerland: Avian Influenza, bird
In Switzerland, H5N1 Avian Influenza virus was detected in a wild duck in Lake Sempach near Lucerne.

In Mozambique, an outbreak of Cholera affecting 18 people was reported in Nampula Province.
In Lusaka of Zambia, 253 cases of Cholera including one death were reported so far this year.

In Moldova, the outbreak of Mumps which began in October last year continued to affect the country. As of 23 March, 19 550 cases of Mumps were reported.

Argentina: Yellow Fever [update]
As of 26 March 2008, Argentina has confirmed 5 Yellow Fever cases including 1 death. All the cases are from Misiones Province.

In Brazil, an outbreak of Dengue Fever affecting more than 32 000 people including 47 deaths was reported in Rio de Janeiro. In Pernambuco, 977 suspected cases of Dengue Fever were reported in the first two months of this year; out of which, 11 cases were confirmed.
