In Malaysia, an outbreak of suspected Chikungunya Fever affecting 34 people was reported in Johor.

In Vietnam, the Ministry of Health recorded 1 400 cases of acute diarrhoea including 170 cases positive for Cholera in May. Since the beginning of 2008, Vietnam has recorded nearly 500 Cholera cases.

In India, about 50 000 suspected cases of Chikungunya Fever have been reported in Karnataka State.

Pakistan: Avian Influenza, poultry
Pakistan confirmed a new outbreak of Avian Influenza at a commercial poultry farm in Swabi District, where 4000 birds died in the past few days. The authority culled around 2 000 birds. No human case was reported.

In Kenya, an outbreak of Cholera was confirmed in the Kisumu municipality in the western region. A total of 134 cases had been reported with 13 confirmed cases. No death was registered. The new outbreak is attributed to the contaminated well water. At least 376 cases and 12 deaths were reported in the Kisumu East District.

In Uganda, at least 31 people died of Cholera and over 290 infected in the eastern districts of Butaleja, Mbale, Pallisa and Manafwa. The infections were believed to be attributed to the contaminated River Manafwa.
