In the Philippines, Pangasinan Province records show that Cholera victims have increased to 57, including one death in Bayambang town.

New Zealand: Avian Influenza, poultry
A surveillance programme on Avian Influenza found H5N1 virus in 2 samples taken from Mallard ducks in New Zealand. The samples were taken from healthy birds and there have been no reported bird deaths or disease.

Pakistan reported 11 cases of Poliomyelitis in the past few days. There were a total of 1 210 cases of Poliomyelitis reported from 14 countries worldwide since 1 January 2008. The 4 endemic countries (India, Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan) account for 1 135 (93.8%) of the cases reported this year. The remaining 75 cases were reported in 10 other countries, which were imported from Nigeria and India respective.
