A rancher in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, was diagnosed to have contracted anthrax in early May. The infection was coming from a cow that died from anthrax a few days ago. Symptoms include fever, pustules of nose and mouth.
Health authority of the capital immediately set up 24-hour screening check-points and put the 7 close contacts in isolation. Disinfection had been carried out and vaccination has been given to 24,000 cattle nearby.

Dengue Fever: Australia [Update - 2]
In Queensland, the dengue fever outbreak has now 47 cases, with the latest cases in North Ward, Gulliver and Aitkenvale.

Dengue Fever: Sri Lanka [Update]
Over 180 cases of Dengue have been detected within the capital Colombo, an increase of over 90 % over 2003.
In Sri Lanka, there were usually 2 peaks of the disease following heavy rains in a year, from June to July and December to January.

Malaria, imported: Hong Kong SAR, ex-Nigeria
A case of imported Malaria was confirmed by the Department of Health.
The patient lived in Nigeria and came to Hong Kong in early May. He developed symptoms on the same day. He was admitted into hospital and was later diagnosed to be suffering from malaria.
